Yes, our company could have stayed in the Netherlands and enjoy all the benefits of a country where things are fully settled down but it was more challenging to discover a new environment, a new culture and most important, we soon realized that we can do something for this great country and contribute to its developing process! Romania is a country which hasn't yet lost the touch of a natural life. Hospitality is mostly valued by the Romanians and in the mountains villages you would be surprised to find yourself invited by locals to eat and drink with them. Romania is still wild, but in a pleasant way: you won't find here jungles of concrete, well maybe the heritage of the communist regime and the block of flats, but you can be sure that in a few miles from that you would find places and people where traditions are still alive. Creativity is at its place in Romania as the people of this country have a good tradition in adding new visions to what were believed to be until then, finite achievements in Art or Science. Did you know that in the twenties, a Romanian, Henry Coanda, actually designed and flew the first jet-airplane in the world just after another one, Tristan Tzara, had amazed a world of literature reviewers with the first lines of surrealistic prose? Choosing Romania was one creative move for our company also, a change which gave us more flexibility in perceiving the world and we hope that this is a mutual beneficial trade and we will positively influence people around here. Anyway, Romania has been generous with us, in offering its' share of creative answers: Imagine stepping in your office in the morning and realizing that all the changes in content and design for your website are already there, on the screen, waiting for your approval. This is not magic, but an advantage of the working hours here in Romania and the differences in timetable: our work can be delivered just when the United States start their working day! Famous for top results in the IT field, the Romanian educational system produces highly-skilled specialists, motivated young people who are enthusiastic to work for CamelWeb, a company which offers them a multinational environment and an opportunity to prove their potential. Salary costs are affordable for us and motivating for our employees, but most important, in all aspects of their work, people are driven by a western way of thinking, feeling that things in this country are on the right track! Romania shares many principles with the United States and Western Europe: getting ready to join the European Union, people from here are ambitious and driven by a spirit of entrepreneurship. Unfairly separated from the rest of Europe, by the communist Iron Curtain, just after World War II, the Romanian people waited and hoped for more than half a century the 'return of the Westerners' and now this is actually happening! Economic indicators are on the right path and we are proud to be involved in the adventure towards well-being of this freedom loving country! |
